var intro         = 'NCSS      <br><br>In November of 2009, Indian Creek Productions, Inc., organized a tour and a pow wow performance for the National Council for the Social Studies annual conference in Atlanta, Georgia. NCSS members had the opportunity to tour New Echota State Historic Site, the capital of the Cherokee Nation prior to the Removal. In addition to touring the reconstructed town, teachers were treated to an exhibition of traditional Cherokee dances.<br><br>After New Echota, the next stop was the Chief Vann House State Historic Site, what was once known as the Showplace of the Cherokee Nation.<br><br>Later in the evening, NCSS opened its conference with a pow wow performance. <br><br>As the keynote speaker for the final day of the conference, Chad Smith, chief of the Cherokee Nation, addressed hundreds of teachers. Mark had the honor of introducing the chief.';

If you are not friends before the dance, you will be afterwards!', 'The Chief Vann House was part of a large plantation.', 'Our second stop on the tour was the Chief Vann House, just a short distance from New Echota.', 'The Chief Vann House was known as the \"Showplace of the Cherokee Nation,\" yet the Vann family was forced out to move to Oklahoma like most everyone else.', 'This photo shows one of the bedrooms at the Chief Vann House.', 'The dining room of the Chief Vann House was quite elegant, especially for its time.', 'Outside the Vann House were some cabins that represent typical Cherokee homes of the early 1800s.', 'Most Cherokee families of the time lived in homes much like this one.', 'Richie Bottchenbaugh was the emcee, singer, and drummer for the pow wow dance demonstration that opened the National Council for the Social Studies annual conference in Atlanta.', 'The dancers drew attention walking through the Omni Hotel to the dance location in one of the ballrooms.
